Happy Monday to all K-5 Wiley families!
Our End of Grade (EOG) testing dates have been set. Please mark these dates on your calendar now! Below you will find the list of specific dates. If you are a K-5 Wiley family, please keep reading! This year we have a great need for volunteer test proctors. While proctoring is certainly not an exciting job, it’s essential to providing all students with a positive testing environment. As a Wiley family, we look forward to another opportunity to pull together to support our students, staff and school!

~ (Repeat) EVAAS roster verification - Roster verification for teachers opens April 21, and you will receive an email soon with directions for doing so. In an effort to minimize the amount of “cleaning up” that is necessary on my end to balance out student percentages, we will work together on the workday (May 12) to complete this task. It should be quick, and all providers claiming a percentage of your students should be present to ensure that every student is claimed 100%. If you’d like to begin working on your percentages, that’s great … just know that we will work together to finalize the rosters.
~ (Repeat) Cohort Learning Share-Out - Each cohort will provide a 10-15 minute presentation to showcase their new learning beginning at 10:30am on Friday, May 12. Please be sure to highlight implications of your new learning on your instructional practices AND provide clear examples for ways others can replicate your work. Any mode of presentation will work! PDPs: For all teachers (besides BTs), be sure to have your EOY reflection and data entered into your PDP prior to May 12th, when we will be signing off on plans. Thanks!
IRT/Literacy Updates
- (repeat) mClass PROGRESS MONITORING (grades K-3 ONLY): Here is the link to the Progress Monitoring Passages. Scroll down to the blue shaded box that has the folder General Running Record Assessments. Click on the sub-folder L-Z Running Records. From there, you can print the student and teacher copies. I suggest using a page protector and dry erase marker for your teacher copies.
***Remember that your students only need to read 100-150 words for the TRC progress monitoring. You DO NOT administer the written comprehension and you one administer ONE level. Use the level you are working on during guided reading. - (repeat) K-2 EOY Assessments:
The administration of EOY Summative Assessments is required by DPI for K-2 teachers. The assessments, which were created by DPI have gone to print and should arrive in schools by early May. They will also be posted to CMAPP under the Resources tab for each grade level. Teachers may begin administering the assessments as soon as they are received. The may administer the assessment as a whole or as individual items. Before the end of the school year, teachers should enter the results of the assessments in OASIS.
(repeat) NKT - EOY Window:
The NKT window is May 22nd - June 2nd. First grade teachers benchmark ALL students. Kindergarten teachers, students who were 13 or above at BOY/MOY do not need to be benchmarked.

PBIS UPDATES
Monday Meeting activity: Caught Red-Handed
For this activity, you’ll need two or three (or more) small objects that can be easily passed around the circle, behind children’s backs. One person stands in the middle of the circle and closes his/her eyes for a moment. Children who are in the circle begin to pass the objects behind their backs, as sneakily as possible. They also pretend to pass objects so that at all times students are either passing an object or faking a pass. The person in the middle opens his/her eyes and tries to figure out where the objects are in the circle. The person has three guesses, which should be made quickly.
Variation: Place a ring on a string that is long enough to go all the way around the inside of the circle. Children hold the string with both hands and pass the ring or pretend to pass the ring to each other while the child in the middle tries to guess who has the ring.
PBIS reminders:
· Please continue to be at your duty location when the bell rings. The duties are posted in the Playbook.
· Continue to pass out Globetrotters. Extra Globetrotters, Wiley Winner forms and certificates can be found in the lounge.
· Each Monday, please do the connection activity with your class during morning meeting.
· Please document behaviors. Find some systems that works for you so you have trigger points, time of day what you did and did it work all written down. We must have this information written down.
