~(Repeat) PROCTORS NEEDED: End of Grade (EOG) - Please add this blurb to your next newsletter. Our End of Grade (EOG) testing dates have been set.  We will be testing May 30 to June 2. Please mark these dates on your calendar and please save the date! If you are a K-5 Wiley family, please keep reading! We need volunteer test proctors. While proctoring is certainly not an exciting job, it’s essential to providing all students with a positive testing environment. The more volunteer proctors we have, the more teaching assistants we can leave in our K-2 classrooms. Also, by having K-2 families proctor, this will  provide you with insight into the world of EOGs. As a Wiley family, we look forward to another opportunity to pull together to support our students, staff and school!
Please contact our Testing Coordinators with any questions:

General Updates

~Custodial Schedule: Mopping will be completed on Fridays. Jose and Christian will vacuum and sweep the classroom tile on the highlighted days. Please pick up chairs on these afternoons. As always, please continue to place trash cans in the hallway for pick up. If you want surface dusting completed, please be sure not to overload surfaces with stuff.

~Reminder: Exercise may not be used as a negative consequence. Restricting the area of recess or the students with whom a student may play are options that are allowed as consequences. This means that extra laps may not be used as an individual or group consequence - doing so translates to direct violation of a statewide mandate (Healthy Active Childrens’ Policy).

~ New Door Security: Here are a few reminders regarding our new door. Staff, please use your key to enter the building instead of ringing the bell. When possible, please wait for your entire class to arrive so that they can enter at one time and re-teach children to hold the door for the student behind them. Remind students that they are not to open external doors for parents or strangers.
~Coats and Lunchboxes Outdoors: Remember to stop and collect items from the playground and cafeteria when leaving every day.
~Spring Pictures: Monday, you will first go to the front steps of the school for your class photo, and then to the Media Center stage for individual photos. All students will have an individual photo taken. The photographer will hand out labels when you arrive. See Carol with questions.
~Single Subject Acceleration - Please add this blurb to your next newsletter. The nomination window for parents to nominate their child to be tested for Single Subject Acceleration is April 6-26. More information is available on http://wakeacceleration.weebly.com/ . Please note as a parent you may only nominate your child to be tested for acceleration in either Math or Language Arts (not both).
