  • Carnival … so fun! Thank you Wiley team for making it such a memorable evening!  Clearly, EVERYONE had a blast.


General Updates


~ Did you hear the title of a book during our Learning Cohort Share-out that you're dying to read this summer? Or, perhaps there's another professional book you're wishing to read as you lounge poolside this summer? We can put together an order (within reasonable limits) and cover the expense. Email Leslie if interested.

~ (repeat) END OF YEAR CELEBRATIONS - Don’t forget to email Leslie with your dates, times, locations, etc. We’ll get you a full run-down of the list next week.

~ (repeat) WE NEED MORE PROCTORS - All Grade Levels - Please send out this sign up to all parents via email, member hub or newsletter again this week!

Our End of Grade (EOG) testing week is coming upon us.  We need more proctors! Please consider proctoring on at least one of days. As a Wiley family, we look forward to another opportunity to pull together to support our students, staff and school!

IRT/Literacy Updates


  • EOY mClass Benchmarking: The window opens May 15th and closes June 5th. We will blitz on the 16th and 17th. The UPDATED schedule for that is HERE. Please note the following reminders:
    • We WILL have a modified elective schedule for these two blitz days. Please check the schedule linked above.
    • Staff who will be helping to assess, if you need a refresher or would like a copy of the passages in advance, please see Kathy Foglia.
    • Please look over your class lists in the next week to and let Kathy know if there are any corrections to be made.
    • Teachers, please remember that you will be assessing your reds yourselves. **First and Second Grade teachers, ALL of your reds and yellows must be completed for DIBELS by Wednesday the 17th.


  • End of the Year Work Samples for Cumulative Folders:
EOY work sample requirements are the same as last year:
  • ELA:  K – 5:
    • last written comprehension response from instructional TRC for grades K-3,
    • and writing samples from each type of writing (narrative, informational, and opinion) labeled with the grade level and year
  • Math:  K-5:
    • Two to three open-ended work samples

  • **Calculators: Reminder to ALL 3-5 classroom teachers. Please turn in your calculators to Eman and Kristin no later than Friday the 19th. We would love them earlier if you can swing it but, please have them in by the 19th.



Magnet Updates
  • RED NOSE DAY - May 25
    • What an amazing way to show our students how we as adults do things to give back. This great cause in on a mission to end child poverty.
    • Through the power of entertainment, Red Nose Day raises awareness and money to help the kids who need us most, both at home and around the world.

    • Pick up your red nose at Walgreens for $1

  • (repeat) GRAFFITI WALL- What I Have to Share With Others...My journey begins right here, right now.
    • As a grade level think creatively how you might want to fill your grade levels light bulb on the graffiti wall to answer the question above.  It could be each class has a puzzle piece of the bulb that they fill, it could be a collage of drawings/pictures put together, it could be positive or any other ideas that come to mind. Please complete this before May 19.


Media & Technology
  • LAST DAY FOR STUDENT CHECKOUT IS MAY 19
  • Returning Books - All students need to begin returning books on May 22.  First class in each grade level to return all their books wins a popsicle party!
  • Teacher Books - Teachers may continue checking out books until the end of the year.  However, please return any books you are no longer using.
  • Library Cards - Please gather up all library cards on May 22.  You can place them in my box, have them delivered to me, or I can pick them up.
  • Equipment Issues - If you have any issues with any technology items please let Lynn know ASAP.
